All the colors of the rainbow
Richard wanted to do more than just add a color to the Marmoleum Dutch Design Collection. He wanted something more conceptual. The penny dropped when he took his kids to school and witnessed a variety of ethnicities in the playing ground. His concept fitting Dutch society was born: all the colors of the rainbow.
At first, he used all available colors. But because of the way pigments in Marmoleum interact, the colors combined as in a Jackson Pollock painting. Soon he learned he only needed the ‘Mondriaan’ colors yellow, blue, red and white. That combination produced beautiful, pastel transition shades, and the visual relaxation he sought.
